About Doujin Dispatch
Doujin Dispatch is an independent English-language review site for Japanese adult doujin games, eroge, voice works, manga, and CG collections — the world sold on DLsite and similar storefronts. It is written by a native Japanese reader based in Japan, for the growing number of overseas fans who buy these works but can't read the Japanese reviews that would tell them what's actually worth buying.
The site exists because of a simple gap. English coverage of doujin works mostly stops at machine-translated store pages, while the real signal — thousands of Japanese reviews, circle updates on Ci-en, community discussion — stays locked behind the language barrier. Machine translation can move the words across, but not the judgment: what Japanese buyers praise, what genre conventions mean, which circle has a decade of trust behind it. We translate the judgment.
Every review therefore includes three signature elements:
- Japanese Reception — how the work is actually discussed in Japan, with short attributed quotations and analysis.
- Japanese Difficulty (Lv.1–5) — an honest rating of how much Japanese you need, from “none at all” to “native-level nuance.”
- Interpreter's Note — the cultural context a non-Japanese reader would miss: dialect, wordplay, genre codes, circle history.
We buy what we review, disclose every affiliate relationship, and publish our full methodology and content policy. If you spot an error in a translation or a factual claim, we want to know — corrections are noted in the review's update history.
Doujin Dispatch is not affiliated with DLsite / EISYS, Inc., or any circle whose works we review.
